Pardon me Herman;

Here I go again...
I beg [to ask] what is a "Sicilian White" fig?
Is it defined somewhere???
Or you just dubbed some unknown fig as such???

After very some careful research, I did dubb 2 of my old unknowns
(came from same original place)
GM#10, as "Sicilian Light"  &
GM#11, as "Sicilian Dark".

And yes; quite a few (so to speak) "Sicilian Black(s)" do already exist...

I had a Bianca Siciliana a couple years back, however did not survive. I would imagine in English language this may be the same fig. Acquired it from an Italian native fig friend and also member of the forums. Ciao

Thanks Maggie.

You did remind me to look at one sure source;
(closed) Belleclare Nursery of LI, NY.
And no; I do not have any.

56. SCILIAN WHiTE (Artata Musomelli) (a) large, green-yellow, thick pink to amber center, (2 crops)

59. FICO BLANCO (Bifara Musomelli ) (Sicily) (b) large, mottled-green-yellow, golden amber center (2 crops)

77. FICO BIANCO SICILIANO (Sicily) (a) large, white dark-red center (2 crops)

I did ot dub anything,I got this fig from a Gardener on the fig forum that lives in NY,4 yrs ago.
I got it as a Sicilian wht,and that why it is Sicilian white.
George:Yes There is another Sicilian Black that "Italian fig trees" use to sell,and I akllready eliminated that one out of my stock,because it is Hardy Chicago.

Edit:Boy I am proud of Myself,at over sixty,I still have a very good Memory:
The Gardener I got Sicilian Wht,lives In Long Island NY,and his screen name was MarcAntonio,on The Garden web fig Forum.
So George Send him ,an Email and asked him if he dubbed the Sicilian Name ,Name,no Offense?!!!

OK, I hear you.
[E: I was just asking...]

I love how Belleclare put the original Italian name of the fig.  This is very important to people trying to match the figs they have here to their ethnic origin!

This fig tree appears to be very similar to an Italian White variety that I have been trying to identify. Original origin of my tree is Camporeale Sicily. Your tree looks great!
