sick celeste

As I posted a few weeks ago I am fairly new to figs and ordered several var. this past spring.  All of them seem to be doing very well and growing until the last few days.  My Celeste started having a lot of its leaves turning a sickly yellow color and dropping.  All the other figs seem to be doing fine.  We are in a bit of a drought but I try to water them all every couple of days.  I know this isn't much info to go on but I have no idea whats wrong because I'm growing them all the same way and all the other plants seem to be thriving.  Any Ideas?

Hi aaron8888

I have said this before!

If the leafs are turning yellow from the top down, I think it needs water, if it is turning yellow from the bottom up, it is water logged. But there can be other things causing the yellow leaf and the leaf drop.

Others might think differently.

Good luck.

Thank you very much for the advice.  I do belive that it is  going from the top down so that would go along with the fact we are needing rain.  Ill up the water and see if that helps.

do you have a picture of you tree so that we can be sure

If you can get a garden hose to it just let it have a slow little stream for about 3 hrs (or better yet, if you have a soaker hose to it, do the the same (3hrs)!

unfortunately I dont have a digital camera yet so no way of putting pictures on it.  I do however have a soaker hose that I will put on it.

Good on the soak-er hose!
We can imagine the pictures!

It most likely will show some improvements pretty quickly.

as an update the watering did the trick!  the plant's leaves have stopped turning yellow and dropping.  Thanks for the advice.  Also on a separate question - Italian Ever-bearing (the one I have is suppose to have a black like fig)  Its looking very healthy however it doesn't seem to be growing very fast at all.  Is this common with this var?

Hello aaron8888,

Glad to hear the watering has helped your sick Celeste

I cant help ya on the Italian Everbearing question,

But I know some members out there can chime in on that question,
