sigh. The freeze got me.

i have a feeling this spring isn't gonna be hot either. hope it's not too wet.

Believe it or not, the farmer's almanac which hit this winter's forecast perfectly is calling for a slighly above normal April and a hotter than normal summer, here in the deep south. Not that I love hotter than normal in July/Aug, but if they are right our figs should enjoy a good growing season starting next month. Maybe a great April will make up for it being tax month ;-)

Of course all that talk about warmth is hard to believe looking out at 15F and everything white this morning.

hot, i'm fine with. non-stop rain is what i'm afraid of.

Are you sure Central Arkansas is part of what is known as the Deep South? I Live in the Panhandle of Florida and we just barely are still considered part of it. Central and South Florida are no longer considered part of it.

My sister sent me a fig for Valentines Day and it showed up looking like that because it got stuck in postage h%ll. I called the nursery it came from and they said water and wait it would bounce back... and it is tiny, looks like I could easily go bonsai with it...was crazy those dark green crispy leaves..

Looks like it got mine too...that snow and single digits was too much
