I need some help please

A little mold on one side

But other side is looking good..

What can I do?

You can spray some 10% bleach solution on it.  You could also just cut the very end off.  I don't see a node close by so you should be good.  The cutting looks like it's doing good otherwise.

Yes 10% bleach for pre wash on all your cuttings will prevent mold in most cases

Ok I had a fine tooth saw and cut the Mold off all of the clippings. I'm happy they are big clipping so I can take more if and when I need to. Should I have a certain type of Saw or clipper for this ? Or just use the fine tooth hobby Saw?

I assume this will be a race between the mold coming back and me cutting more? Also the 10% Bleach is there a chart with ratio of bleach?

Or just 1/4 Cup Bleach and 2 1/4 Water. Do I spray just the moldy part? Or the whole clipping and wipe off or leave and put it back in the bag?

Also thanks so much for helping me.

I was reading up on Physan 20 I'll order it. For now I will use the bleach but I need to know the proper application method.

I recently had the same thing.   I took my cuttings and dunked them in a mild bleach wash in my  laundry sink.  I then brushed gently with a soft toothbrush.  Patted dry with a clean paper towel.   and then started my rooting process over with a damp towel and clean plastic bag   I will buy some of the Physan that Dennis spoke of   for future presprouting routine.

Thanks never heard of it. Richie

I had same issue with a cutting this winter. The end looked moldy like yours, wouldn't callous up properly, and wouldn't root out. I scored the scion about an inch up from the cut end (in the 3-inch section between nodes) and applied some clonex gel with a q-tip to the scored area. A week later, it's beginning to put out its first signs of a root from within the score mark. This is my first time using clonex, but hopefully it will be a useful trick when I can't get the root end to perform. Good luck. Thanks for mentioning Physan20, Dennis. I remember you talking about this last year and I couldn't for the life of me remember the product you used.

So I cleaned all of the Cuttings with the Bleach solution and a toothbrush.

After applying the Clonex what do you place the cutting in?

I have had no mold since using the bleach solution on all of my clippings. I scrub them down lightly with an old toothbrush. 1/4 Cup Bleach and 2 1/4 Water mixture. For a second I submerge both ends.

Thanks guys!

Make sure the roots come out of the bottom of the cutting, not the top. I use Chinosol antifungal bath, which is awesome stuff but hard to find and expensive. I have a lifetime supply of it.
