Slow rooting cuttings

Sometimes slow and steady wins the race.  Roots finally appeared on a Black Madeira cutting received the end of February.

rooted two this yr.. Black Madeira. just wanted to see if last yr's success was a pure luck or not. one of 'em start growing rather nicely. other dried up and died. not sure what happened. probably too much sun too quick and dried up the cutting or something.

Way to go Tom.
Yup patience in life is a good thing.

Does the hole in the side really help? I'm guessing it is to air prune the roots to force them to branch out.

Its for providing more aeration to the soil.

Tip cuttings always slower, I always remove top bud prior to rooting, root and grow better out of the side! IMO
