I wondered if somone knows if theres a variability in how different varieties leafs smell.
Maybe i am imagining cause i dont have alot of duplicates to confirm this.

Did anyone notice lets say that panache has strong ammonia smell ?

I've wondered about that, too. Although I haven't noticed a unique odor for any specific variety, I do notice the smell is stronger when the trees are happier (watered correctly, enough sun, etc).

Yes there is leaf odor variability among varieties. Some describe it as a "cat pee" odor.  Some of mine have it and some do not while all are in identical potting mix.  I think the ones having it smell better once dried than the ones that have no odor while green. I'm interested to find out if the flavor of tea from the leaves also varies among varieties.

So far of the varieties I have, I've noticed RDB is one of the least smelly
and Sal's GS (aka Sal's EL) is one of the strongest smelling.

In one of my threads  (about Fig Leaf Tea) the different smells were brought up..you might find helpful. I'm not home now so I can't find the thread through my phone but maybe later, or you go under my screen name and look through my threads.

I have several varieties in ground and I have noticed quite a difference in the smells of different trees.  My Celestes smell like an old tom cat has visited and you can detect the aroma from several feet away.  The Brunswicks have a nice green scent like drying hay. The Mission Black smells slightly figgy. Alma and the other Honeys, the LSU Purple and the rest don't smell like anything yet but they are young and I really did not notice the smell on the others until they were 3-4 years old and bushy enough for any aromas to be more concentrated around the tree.
