Just make darn sure you keep that white stuff up your way!!!  Pics of snow should be banned on this forum : )

LOL LOL Steve I doubt it if you would get any!  I'm glad I pruned my baby yesterday - it is COLD out there!!  Well, not as cold as Montana or N Dakota or Canada - but a few days ago it was in the 70's!!  It is kind of nice to have a white Christmas ;)

No snow here....going to get some rain tonight/tomorrow...daytime temp was around 75 with lows expected tonight around 60.  Did get down to around 34 this week one morning.  Anything below 35 and the roll up the sidewalks and close the stores....lol....

You can keep all that snow and cold where you are at...don't like and my figs certainly don't like it all.  I grow mine in the ground so I have to cover.  Old Christmas lights and light blankets work wonders.

Alan

We are having a winter weather advisory from 10am tomorrow to 7am thursday. They are saying we could expect 4" to 7" total snow fall.

Looks like I will have to fake my truck broke down or won't start. I'm not dealing with this.

Lol- that's funny. I use to live in San Antonio, TX (more close to new braunfels). It only gets. Chilly, never snowed in for me. It is snowing here in IDAHO!

Here's the snow this morning. Here's a picture of my cedar of Lebanon bonsai tree covered with snow.

Bass, what the heck is that beautiful tree doing outside? Bring it in silly- lol. That's a lot of snow.....Wooh!

Bass - that is a beautiful Bonsai tree!  I used to grow them when I lived in NY.  In Texas, I lasted 2 maybe 3 summers.  They needed water 2-3 times per day!!  Some were stolen (didn't have a fence for the back yard)  the rest were baked in the sun!  I gave up on them since I couldn't keep up with the watering.

Snow in Texas, wow!  Here and at my dad's house they're predicting 8" - 16" over the next 36 hours.  But we expect snow around here... you guys in TX don't so often!  Good luck with the SO Jo-Ann.

p.s. Sal's Corleone and Maltese Falcon cuttings look like they're rooting nicely... pics coming when I get a chance.

Hi Mike - Where in NY are you? I went to school in Cobleskill and I have a cousin in or near Glen Falls - talk about snow!!!  No Thanks, I'll get my normally 0-4" here in the dfw area and be OK with that.  I say normally because back in 2010 for the super bowl - whatever number it was;) - we had about 10" or so!!  That wasn't so nice.

Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas Holiday!

Jo-Ann, I'm a little west of Binghamton, and south of Ithaca.  About an hour (a little more) from Cobleskill.  Dad is near Buffalo (lots of snow there).  Only a couple of inches on the ground here so far, but more coming.  I didn't realize you'd normally get up to 4" of snow there.  But I guess with the ongoing drought, you can use it.  Be well, and get some rest.

Mike

We usually get 4" for the season - dusting here an inch there.  I haven't heard the official amount but it looks like 3", and with the temps staying low it will stick around for a day or 2. By Thursday afternoon there won't be a trace of it!

That's funny,
my sister and family live near there, Flower Mound TX.
I called her yesterday, 45F here, snowing there!
Crazy weather, although in coastal NJ we don't normally get too too much snow with the ocean nearby.

i want some snow.. few years back it used to snow almost every year. then we bought sleds for the boys. since then i have not seen any snow worth a darn.

Same here.  Bought a sled 2yrs ago and snowed once since then.  I think my perfect winter would consist of 3 good snows, at least 6" deep.

Aw, you guys.   It doesn't even count as a real snowfall until it's at least 12" !!   XC skiing in the woods, you have to wait until it's deep enough to cover all the rocks, roots, and fallen branches.  I guess we're in for a bit of it now though... radar map says it's about 10 miles away and coming fast.

John - funnier yet is I'm right next to her in Lewisville!!

We just got hit with at least 6" of snow and more to come tonight. The bad thing is my driveway is over 1800 ft. I just came in from plowing.

JoAnn i know you folks must get excited about snow in your area but here in this
dated picture with a few dormant fig trees .  ; )
