And look what I found. It looks albino but I know it was because it was buried in the coir. I don't know why but this made me break out laughing and I had to take a pic. This is a caprifig I hope to inoculate with wasp in a few short years. I did break it off before planting.
Personally think thats interesting.
Freaky looking!I had a fig forming on a tree last summer that looked just like that...but it was out in the open in the sun. It fell off before it was more than about a centimeter big, so I don't know if it would have greened up or stayed white.Martin -- would you eat an albino fig if it grew on a tree that otherwise produced dark figs? ;-)Jim
Sue,That's a perfect start for any cutting !How long has it been in the dirt ?Francisco
Francisco, This cutting went into the dirt today along with 5 others. It has been in a baggie with coconut coir for about 3 weeks.Jim, It is freaky looking, isn't it.
Funny - that cutting is full of energy. There are some cuttings like that. Now you know why the cuttings has not leafed out until now ...
If it was below the soil, maybe it was blanched like asparagus, endive or other vegetables.
i was just looking at the pix and was thinking.. "dang, something laid an ugly egg right next to the tree..."
