so, i'm free this weekend..

let the party begin :) rum and hawaiian punch tastes pretty good.

only thing i have to do this weekend is to move Panache cuttings to cup, and move some cups to 1 gal. with things way it is right now, i'll probably keep two of each cuttings and rest will go to cub scout auction to raise money for our pack. other will go to boys in my den. they were rather disappointed that their cuttings from last year didn't make it. so.. i'll give them rooted cuttings this time. frustration is no way to start growing things.

next year i'll give them mulberry cuttings, hopefully rooted.

i'll make them grow trees and enjoy what nature can provide to them. no more twinkies for snack.

Rum and ginger beer. Trust me on this.

i thought that was irish whiskey and ginger beer. but that would ruin ginger beer x)

I better stick to beer ..............SN BigFoot !

sierra nevada.. too much hop. don't get me wrong. i like hop, but i like it well balanced with malt. not just overpowering like all those micro brew hype from 90's. germans got it right when it comes to hop and the malt. but their lagers are just lacking in character. belgium and british ale have more characters in my opinion. something to taste and chew on. then again that all goes out the window after my 5th or 6th pint. and i'm fresh out of my Guniness. i only have brown goodies left in the house. i'm saving my knob creek for the last shot. best pint of beer i ever had was pint of old peculier i had at one of the highland game. oh boy..  that was good. then there was fuller's summer honey seasonal ale.. got that thing just.. it's refreshing and sweet at the same time. just the right combination of hop, honey and malt. then there my first homebrew. i don't remember what i did with that thing, but it was great. never could recreate it.

I like to make a BIG Malty beer with Tons of hops to balance it off.

Sounds like a great weekend, Pete.  Drink one for me!

james, yupe. big malty beer :) i can find my copy right now.. but "Brew Your Own British Real Ale (Camra)" has good recipes.

edit: oh yeah.. i have greek yogurt in the ice box that's over a month past expiration date. that thing is nasty x)

last call for the night! you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here :) i'm getting another rum and hawaiian punch x)

1/4 bottle of Mount Gay Premium Rum chilled.
1 very cold cantaloupe skinned and shoved into blender with
1/4 jar fig preserves
1 light squeeze on a fat lime
1 pinch sea salt
Blend and pour into an old mason jar and serve with scrambled eggs, bacon and buttered toast.
Coffee on the side but only if it's strong enough to hold up a spoon.
Have a great weekend.
Note -- walk the dog before breakfast.

I can hear Pete snoring from here.  ;)

I lived in Flushing until about 5 years old,
then we moved to Staten Island.

:-)

oh.. i had good night's sleep on that night.. then it seems i was free of all the other obligation, but the house chores x) was out of house most of sat. and sun. driving my boys around the town. but i got lucky and my wife rewarded me with bunch of 1 gal container and good amount of seedling soils and perlites :) i'll be moving some from baggie to cup and cup to container sometime this week.

and i think i killed my first CP. D. venusta was loaded with molds. good thing i had two of them. i plucked the one with mold and that went into trash can. oh.. the neighbor who gave us puppies like to grow figs. i'll give her some trees when the weather gets better.
