I didn't get too many this year, but have many more ripening up now.  So far it's a toss up between Texas Blue Giant and Italian Honey.  Thankfully they ripen at different times so I don't have to choose.

I only had a very small sampleing but I would have to say Ginos black.  The only Sals C i had was off a young tree and could have used another day or so.  if I let my MBVS get VERY ripe they are very good as well for a close second to the Ginos.

dennis, that's Gene H.'s green Paradiso. I have Paradiso Nero, and Paradiso Bronze. tasted Nero and Bronze both this yr, but i think they need to mature like the green one for full taste. the taste of both Neor and Bronze were not as intense as the green one yet.

Just a beginner, I had Celeste, hardy Chicago, brown turkey, black Bethlehem, MBvs, Gino's, verte, JH adriatic, RDB.

JH Adriatic and celeste were my best. All of my trees are very young, first figs. Hope to try a lot more next year. It has been great to come home from work and browse for figs.

Hard to say. Most of my plants are still very young, and the season is not yet over here. There are still many to try. I hope.

In no order since they were eaten on different days and not possible to compare:  VdB, Black Greek, and unk Pastilliere.

I don't think it's coincidence that they are all med to small, dark, jammy figs with red interiors. :)

As of today, with a few still to ripen (I hope) the Greek fig Kesariani is the best tasting fig this year. They were consistently good
and the one this morning was a 9.999999. Still holding out for the Black Madeira to ripen.

So far sal's g though from a very new tree it was an explosion of taste. Have some RdB and VdB that shoul be ripe in the next few days or so, so it might change.

Since my initial response to this thread, I'll also now add St. Rita... Small fruits, but little, dark figgy-bon-bons.

I had more pleasure from Vasilika Sika than any others, if only due to it's size and productivity. Next would be Black Ischia and Preto, both are outstanding in flavor.
