Thank you Paully, Eli and Art..
Paully that's correct, people coming from distant places always bring a sample or two of their beloved fruit trees which they cultivate and tender for generations,...in many cases it is the very best they had in their native places,..through times, the real names are either forgotten or changed in the new adopted language.. Who could guess that BM was the 'figo preto' ?
Eli, no, this variety is not at all commercial, the reason being that there not many to sell! Only the real old ones know about 'sofêno preto'. Inchário Preto, and Bêbera branca are now showing up in force in all markets in this district, follows 'Bourjassotte branco' and Violette de Solliès. Prices came down to 2.5 euro per kg.
Will try that vodka recipe !
Art, your young son has a fine taste!!
