Soil PH

What type of soil do figs like the most? I'm growing figs in containers and I'm getting a potting mix ready. What type of soil do figs like? Do they like acidic, neutral, or alkaline? They reason I ask this is because I'm using pine bark mulch which is apparently acidic so if figs like higher ph should I mix something in to raise the ph? I was thinking the left overs from burning a campfire. Thanks!!!

What are you using besides pine bark mulch?

being that they love lime, the soil should be more alkaline.

Add Pelletized Limestone. Would not add wood ash in containers as it can burn the roots fast. Stick with Limestone. Wood ash will increase the pH fast (not the best choice in container).

Pine bark mulch and miricale grow garden soil.

And always use fish emulation. Stinks alittle but it is the best for fadt spring time growth.

Wait so could I add a small handful of wood ash as a substitute for lime?
