Some figs from Today

Moscatel Preto

English Brown Turkey

Lattarula

Enrico

That's a tasty pick. The weather here have cooled very quickly and no main crop figs yet. I like to pick my Latarrula when they have dark sugar spots like shown in pic. Hope they all tasted good. Any chance you can pinpoint what Enrico taste ? I am unable to tell what it taste like except to cite it is much well balanced in sweetness & flavor here. One of our favourites over Latarrula. We picked some EBT yesterday. Looking promising to ripen are Osborne Prolific, Latarrula, D.Portuguese, Moscatel B., Malta Blk, HC, Hollier, MVS & Gino, Morena, etc..........2 weeks of nice weather would sure help.

tasty-looking figs, Nelson. Very nice! Liking that Enrico especially for that closed eye.

Looking good Nelson. How was the flavor on the Moscatel Preto and Enrico?

Moscatel Preto was outstanding thin skin very sweet with a hint of something similar to a grape. Maybe thats why its called moscatel definate keeper and one of my best tasting figs.

Brown turkey is another one that has impressed me all year best tasting brown turkey I have come across yet and only 1 fig left on the tree definate keeper.

Lattarula average sweet fig.

Enrico looked pretty but had rubbery texture and very little flavour not sweet at all could of been due to all the rain we got lately. I do have a few more ripening now and will make a better judgement once the other figs ripen. 3 were picked that day wich I shared with my parents all three tasted the same wich were very bland.

A few more I noticed I forgot to post.

G+A ( Gene & Angies Fig)  This fig tasted like a cross between early violet & Hardy Chicago very nice tasting.

This is an unknown I got last year no Idea what it is have not paid any attention to this fig all I can say is that it was sweet & tender.

Looks like you've got a good harvest going there Nelson . Is the brown turkey from Monrovia ?

John

Hey John, well considering the amount of plants I have a very small harvest this season. This brown turkey is from Joes Garden on Davenport where I also got the Paradiso Nero. You should of picked one up this Brown Turkey is extremely good.

Want List
#33 Moscatel Preto
#34 Gene & Angie's Fig

Rhetorical but I'll ask anyway...does it ever end?

One word...AWESOME figs!  Thanks for sharing pictures!! They look delicious!  One of these days...I'll have more than 1 or 2 figs to eat:).

Jimmie I ask myself that same question every season and It seems the answer is NO lol. I get rid of 10 plants and get 20 new ones its horrible.
