Here are some ripe figs that I picked today. These were ripened in my greenhouse. I only have a couple more that I'm trying to get ripe.

The best tasting were Chiappetta Unk. and followed by Sicilian Red. Both were very delicious.
The figs in the pictures are:
1. Brooklyn white
2. Chiappetta Unk.
3. JH Adriatic
4. Longue D'Aout
5. Mittica White Unk.
6. Red Sicilian
7. Vasilika Sika

Art, all the figs look really good. The greenhouse looks like it is working very good for you. Congratulation!!!!  Did you get heat in it yet?  If so it will be a short winter for you.

Gina, Yes they were picked just a couple hours ago.

aikjogja, The Chiappetta Unk has a melon taste to it. It's one of my favorites.
The Vasilika Sika is also a good fig. It's nice and sweet, but not as sweet as the Chiappetta.
They are both keepers!

Bugs, Yes it is heated. I don't let it get below 48.
Today when it was about 35 degrees outside it was 80 inside. It really heats up when the sun is out. But it drops quick when there is no sun.
I've been eating a handful of figs every day. There's only a few figs left.

Art, you should have some early fig next year and a lot more to eat. I wonder if they will taste better do to more heat and a longer growing time?

Bugs, I hope you are right. Most of the figs that have ripened in the greenhouse have been really good. It's easier to control the water intake. They don't dry out like they do in the heat of the summer.

Art, I don't think it is the heat heat in the summer, as much as it is the wind that dry the plants out.

That's so true. I live on top of a hill with out any wind protection.

Nice figs.....someone give Martin some smelling salts!  :  ))      Not too many dark figs for poor Martin to see in this group of photo.

Wow Art that was great ! Wonderful to have your greenhouse to ripen all of those! My last fig of the year was my 1st Chiapetta  - it was delicious!

You even have the southern TX season beat with that greenhouse.  I had my last fig 2 or 3 weeks ago.
