Some people who come to mind & are missed

I hate to get all sentimental, but there are a few people here I've thought about in recent weeks that I wonder about and hope they are doing OK.  I try to keep in touch with a few people by email who aren't in the list below (Ricci/jazzbass, Akram/Ottawanz5, for example), but I wonder about the others.  Some people I've really enjoyed over the years.  I don't have everyone's number or email, so I'll just say, hope all of you all are doing alright if you read this.

I know some folks (like JD, for example) have been busy with life, but I still miss their words around here.  Some folks like Maggie ... just miss their spirit around.  If you have a heads-up on any that haven't been around in a bit - like Maggie - let us know they're OK!

Maggie (Italiangirl74)
Jimmie (JD)
Tim (Fatnsassytexan)
Sal (2007_giants)
Kit (ResLtFire517) - even if he never posted ;)
Sue (svanessa)
Nelson (nelson20vt)
Little John (Wildforager)
Jose (loslunasfarms)
Michel (The_montreal_fig)
Bill (saxonfig)
John (GeorgiaFig)
Cathy (texascockatoos)

I hope they are all OK. I had recent contact with a few of these fig friends.

Sue (svanessa) pops in here now and then.  She was recently here!  Life gets in the way sometimes.  Me?  I'm working on my chicken coop and filling it..........

I received an Email from Little John today.  From the Scion Exchange Group at Yahoo.

Some of them are still very much involved with their figs. But they have very busy lives, at this time in their lives. Some have seasons when they have more time and seasons when they don't.

I totally understand that.  I keep in touch with a couple of folks that are in the same boat, and I am too.  Having an extremely intelligent and active two-year-old and 15 weeks from a newborn baby boy has me totally balls to the wall - and that doesn't include the 5-hour work week.

I was just sitting here reminiscing last night about the people who, after I signed up, really had a huge impact and have been visibly missed.  I know some folks (Cathy, for example) post once every 6-8 weeks, so they're still around, but I still think about those folks from time to time as well.

Certain people here have made an impact on my life, internet or not.  I didn't list everyone, I just pegged off the people I rarely see post these days or people I don't email with, text or call regularly.

I know Nelson has been busy with work last I talked to him about something a couple months ago, that reminds me I owe him something.

Nelson had his little girl just a little bit before me (6-8 months), I can only imagine he has his hands full with that also.

I talked to Sue (svanessa) last week. She's doing fine.

Jason, honestly just yesterday, I was thing the exact same thing. I miss these guys. I wonder how Sal's Conadria is doing. I remember his pics a few years ago. Sue chimes in every now and then. We talked a few months ago. Haven't heard from Jose in a while.

I'm sure these guys are still around. Life can take over sometimes and you have to prioritize.

I just found this old thread and thought I'd bump it up to say that I appreciate the fact that I'd been missed last summer :) . Thanks Jason.

Jon, you had it about right in your reply. I am outside pretty much all spring and summer. In fact I will probably be disappearing again here in a few weeks. On top of all the regular lawn care and fig tree stuff that keeps me busy, I do some volunteer work that takes up some of my time as well.

I've also let many of my outside projects go for most of the winter. So by the time it's nice enough to work outside again, I've got a lot waiting for me to get busy with. Always so many projects going on for me in the summer, but I look forward to it every year. It's almost time to get back outside! Woo Hoo!
