Here are some Black Madeira figs from today.  These figs are sweet and rich.  They have a nice seed crunch.  I would say they are good but not excellent.  This is the first year that this small tree is producing ripe figs so I'm sure the quality will improve as the tree matures.  Here in Arizona the skin on these figs will burn and turn brown from the sun if not shaded by the leaves.  It does not seem to affect the flavor.  These figs tend to fall off of the tree when they are ripe.  I think I had some issues with the flash when I took these photos.  Hopefully you can still make out the details in the photos.

Congrats on getting ripe fruit! They look pretty juicy--very nice for a first year in the desert. Mine are still in the "stagnant" stage, but I guess there's a chance some may decide to ripen. I've been breaking off the new ones that keep forming.

The ones yesterday were medium sweet and medium rich and had an overall figgy flavor.  I had a few more today that tasted better.  Today they were very sweet.  They had a very rich flavor that was pretty unique.  They were very good figs.  It seems like right now my young tree is putting out fruit that is inconsistent in flavor, but I think as this tree matures the fruit will be very good to excellent.
