Some Stories About Fig Trees

Here's a link to an article that someone wrote about fig trees:

At the bottom of the page there are links to more fig articles, mostly from the New York Times.  They all relate to the unique backyard fig tradition of the New York City area.  It reminded me of growing up in New Jersey with a fig tree next to the shed.  On weekends we'd go and visit my grandmother in the Bronx in a neighborhood where a lot of people grew figs in their little yards.  The NYC area has a rich history with backyard figs.

Hey Joe,
thanks for posting that i really enjoy reading those stories of family and figs.

Ciao, I like this message. It looks alot like my family photo's ( who are in America ) with fig tree and a Cadillac in the driveway!!! Also, the man who wrote this, his family is from the same area (Region) as me in old country. We would refer to each other as Paisan or Paisani.  I like this. Thank you very much for sharing.

When i get some time i 'm going to read the links on that page.
As for Cadillac on driveway it brings me many memories as i had my share of them in past my 1968 eldo being my very favorite with a 472 cu engine and could run on the eway with anything on the top end.
Had a 68, 71, 72 and last was a 74 rag top a real eye turner and that particular one bada bing the memories with it !
Anyways i sure could have lugged around some trees in those trunks.  ; )
