Some tips on up-potting

Jason, thanks, I appreciate your advice.

Mike,  I glad you bumped this thread up because it reminded me that I need to do this.  Our weather here in the mid-atlantic looks pretty mild (highs in the 70's to low 80's) for the next 10 days so it seems like a good time up-pot/re-pot.  The other option (as mentioned upthread) is to wait until the tree is dormant but I also like the idea that the tree would be able to put on a little bit of growth in its new pot before going dormant.

Nice website and photos. Your garden lay out looks great. Do you have any figs that you leave in ground year round? Mike

Mike, thanks for checking out my modest "blog".  I have one fig in the ground that went through its first winter last year.  It is an unknown that the experts here on the forum agree is some variant of Brunswick.  Eventually, I plan to put in a couple more in-ground figs and I am testing out several varieties (in containers) for those valuable spots.  Several of these need to be up-potted so this is a valuable thread.

Just be careful to not leave trees with new soft growth out when frost comes, it can kill the whole top.

Here's a Blanquette I got two weeks ago.  It's put on a lot of nice leaf in a short time!  At what height (?) should I consider up-potting?  Thanks!

Up-potting isn't about height, as explained in this thread, first post.  Good reading, highly recommend checking it out.

I thought I would bump this thread since we have a huge number of new members. I have about thirty five that need to move on up from one to five/seven gal pots which
I will under take soon.

I wish I was closer Mike so I could give you a hand.
