Hey Pete!  This is Suzi!  So sorry you have been sick!  I got that flu shot 2 days ago, so I hope it works!  Not interested in being sick for a month!  YIKES!  I will tell ya, shhhhhhh, we had this thing growing in our yard, and I was sure, dead sure, it was Amaranth.  I ate a few leaves daily.  Delicious.  So, I sauteed garlic, added a ton of those leaves, and JD and I enjoyed what we thought was an edible veg.  WRONG!  We went to emergency by ambulance because we were seeing double and our muscles didn't work.  We couldn't walk without holding on to something.  I evidently, accidentally, poisoned us!  Neuro-toxin

Turned out the weed was Indian Tobacco.  OK to smoke, but not to ingest!  Lesson learned! 
I'm still watching that weed, waiting for it to bloom.  It's 6' tall, and really green.  BUT, just waiting for blooms.  Will never again cook the leaves.  And, lucky for me, I don't smoke, so won't be smokin' those leaves either!!

been more or less not able to function for last 3 weeks due to nasty migraine which won't go away. finally got a different class of med that is at least making me able to think. last couple of months have been just nasty.

i have following plants that i still need to send out. if i don't send out before the weather gets too cold, will send it out in spring. they are all doing well.

1 Genovese Nero (might not be GN. weather this yr was very strange and doesn't look like other's GN)
1 Black Madeira (doing very well)
1 Nero 600 (came back from death and put on a branch)
VdB cuttings
RdB cuttings

art's Unknown Syrian/Turk was sent to one of the teacher at my sons' school who has anut still in turkey that has large fig farm.  when i mentioned fig, he was very happy that fig can be grown in north carolina. we talked a lot about the figs while on kids field trip few weeks ago.
