Do they exist or they are all sweet? When I google for "sour figs", I get some South African plant that is not our common fig.
I have collected a variety from California that is very large green fig with deep red pulp that has an acidic flavor, more like a sour raspberry. But haven't fruited yet for me here, it might be a Smyrna type.
Some figs do have more acid in them, which gives them a zestier taste. Usually "sour" in figs refers to ones that have spoiled, often in humid climates.
I see, I meant "higher acidity" then, not sour because they have spoiled. Thanks for pointing that out. Bass, do you know what variety is that?
