http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/1872162/fig-origintry this for Greek
Thanks for all the names of the Greek Varieties - I have been trying to log these but my research was not too fruitfullTad
This catalogue just appeared on the other forum. It focuses on Majorcan figs. http://mestelrich2.blogspot.com/2015/10/ses-figues.htmlAnd there's this on Catalan figs. You'll see some familiar names.http://www.galgoni.com/ENG/meva_collecio.phpOf course, both Majorca and Catalonia are currently part of Spain.
An old book (1910) by Pedro Estelrich, with common varieties cultivated in Spain (mainland) at the time:http://upcommons.upc.edu/bitstream/handle/2099.4/1403/b13191032.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y
