What a difference 2 weeks makes as lawn people are out and about.
Winter good ridance !
Spring welcome but temps warmer than 50 to 55 would be welcome.
It is suppose to warm up end of week hope it last this time as last time we hit 70 then when one thinks season is coming to end old winter shows its face.
But i say this time winter can kiss my BREBAS.

I'm with you! I think winter has just cleared out of here also. By end of the week we should be in the clear.

Ciao martin,  I was a little concerned this morning.  I knew it was going to get cold last night so i brought all of my figs that have already leafed out inside the kitchen and left a few of the ones with just buds on outside but in my haste I accidentally left 2 of them out that had leaves.  Two Italian trees that are pretty important.  I flew outside this morning when I noticed frost on the garage roofs.  I looked out and found I had forgot to bring in 2 of the leafed out trees.  The leaves were kind of frozen with water from the rain.  It is getting to 66 degrees today, but cold again tonight, but 70 tomorrow and the rest of the 7 day forcast in the high 60's.  Do you think my figs were damaged by this cold last night?  I did manage to bring in 8 of the leafed out trees, naturally they are okay, why I missed those two, i have no idea.  I left the ones outside that have buds, but have not opened. I don't think it will have hurt them, but the others, I am worried. I quickly dumped water on teh leaves to take the frost off of them, I don't know how I thought of that, I think thats what people have done with other plants. What do yous think?   Ciao

Maggie,
Long as those 2 plant were not seedlings just rooted
the plants will live maybe the leaves will get a little burnt around the edges or they might curl up and get brittle and take there sweet time to fall, but it won't kill your plants thats for sure!
I looked out this morning and saw what looked like frost but the temps hit 36 for low here the grass and shed roof were sort of white but out front there was none of that.
Usually temps are at lowest right before sunrise but when sun comes up and shines on plants they warm quickly, so also a chance that temp did not stay cold long enough to even make them fall, time will tell.
But really its ok they will live .
Eat well for baby,  think good things  and dont worry!
