Sprouting stub

Thought I would post this pic as there has been some wondering if it is safe to cut/ prune back a fig. This is the fig that was bleeding from a dormant prune I had made during the winter.
The stub is about 4 inches tall, and now has 8 branches sprouting from its sides. Large sprout beside the stub is sucker from under the soil line.
Also in the pic, one straight back and one off to the right between two and three o'clock, you can see new plants sprouting from the soil. These are from the pieces which I cut off and then stuck into the pot below soil level.

Just let it grow. You can prune it when it is dormant.

Yup would just let it grow .

Yup, letting it grow.
that is my plan
I just posted the pic because there were some posters wondering if it is OK to trim off the top of a plant, they were wondering if it would ruin the plant.
I guess the anwer is no. Once they are growing, it seems you really would have to make an effort to kill a fig tree.

I'll prune when dormant and probably leave 4 of the 8 branches on. That should be a good start on one of those Japanese style fig plants. Low spreading branches, horizontal  to the ground, center completely open.
