First I want to thank Lampo for his generosity. He sent me lot more cuttings that I would have hopped (5 varieties with more then 20 cuttings in total). Thank you.
So this is how I get started:
01 - really nice packed cuttings
02 - unpacked perola cuttings, nice looking ones
03 - bagged one
04 - cupped ones
I tried couple of methods: bag method, jiffy pellets, potted in perlite mix, one with powder hormone (could not find liquid). I was unable to find moss so I could not try that method.
05 - my figs on top of the aquarium. I mimic the humidity dome with cups.
06 to 08 - I would say happy figs on the window sill, taking some 2 hour morning sun.
After seeing on the forum how hard (or at least looked that way for me) it is to know how much to water, I started to use a scale to weight and record
each pot weight. In this way I was confident that I would add water when it is needed an not to much. You can see that table in the attached pdf. I had one loss until now and you will notice how little variation in pot weight that had.
Another hot subject is hardening after humidity bin.
When the leafs appeared, I started to take the the cap off in the afternoons for 2-3 hours and in couple of days when the leafs got even larger and they will not fit in the top cup I let them without anything on top. So until now everything looks great, no wilting, just green leafs and good growth. In the last week I even put them on my window sill where they will get sun in the morning. I would not know what is the humidity in my house but they are in the kitchen and we cook food quite often so this help raising the humidity but that will not last for long. So, why they are doing ok? I do not know, just hope that it will not turn bad on me.
It's been so fun until now and rewarding to see the first roots, first leafs and just marvel at how much this little fellows can grow in such short time.
