The Staten Island Fig Fest will be held at Veranda's at Silver Lake Golf Course at 915 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY on September 15th at 7:00 pm.

This is always a great event. Hope you can make it.

Yesterday, in some parts of Long Island NY, it rained (poured) a record 13 inches in a 24 hour period.
It created enough havoc to be in the news.

In my (NJ) area, we had a good rain and just enough/perfect to water my stuff.

Gorgi you aren't  kidding, we got 13 plus inches in about 6-8 hours.  A bunch of potted fruit trees washed away.  This is what I call natural thinning of the herd.  Happened 2 years ago but that was the ocean.  I wonder why they keep switching the festival site instead of the time (7 PM), it gets dark pretty soon after.

Ed, Will you be at Tim's this year? I will probably make his party.
I wish the Staten Island fest would always be on the weekend. It's hard to make the trek on a weekday.

Ed, It's a good grower! I think it's in a 15 or 20 gal pot with some figs on it. Thanks again.

I will try to make it this year, it is a bit late in the day, specially for those that have to a long drive back.

I went there only once; maybe 2-3 years ago and I had some hard time finding the (old) place.
I arrived late at nighttime; most of the good-action was already gone.
But I was happy to meet Peter/Pete (he has a lot of old Belleclare figs) and FF member Ed (both had fig trees for sale).

Heck! I may go for the 2nd time (in the new place) ...

Are there fig trees for sale there?
Can I bring some of my own?

When do you guys plan on having your gig? I'd like to attend and meet everyone but coming from Charlotte, I will take the train if its on the weekend. Something for me to think about and plan now.

Rich, what are you looking for and what are you bringing?

I'll bring 6 Calliope's Red Greek unk in 1 gallon pots. It's a hardy, strong grower and heavy producer. Very sweet and not figgy. My wife says it has a melon flavor. I'll update my thread on this today with pictures.

I'd be interested in I 258 and the French figs in my sig.
