Coop

Hi coop.
I will be there at about 6.
Vito

I'm arriving around 630-7pm. I'm bringing the family (parents and sister... Lol)

Looks like the weather will end up being okay for you guys.....have fun!

Have fun everyone, like to see some photos and info.

It was very nice meeting all of you guys.

I am sorry I did not see you Joeturbo. Anyway, great to see everybody else, especially Sailesh who travelled a long way to be there.

It really was much fun hanging with all of the folks above and also Mark and Vito. Also made some great trades . And as always it's great spending some time with the man and the legend...Gorgi.
Kudos to Peter. He really is a friend to the fig community.

So I missed the big event! :( I was late in hospital and then I went to see 2 home bound patients. It got very late. Gorgi, Ed, Peter and other fig friends, will see you guys soon. Hopefully next year!

I was a pleasure to meet some of the newer FF members: Danny, Rafael, Shailesh, Rich, Mark and Greenguy.
Let me tell you, once you know a person is a member, no ice-breaking is required; it is like meeting an old friend.

Besides Pete (I think that he was the host), I also saw older timers Ed, Vito and Coop.

The rice pudding (with figs) was delicious. I missed the fig-drinks.

It was funny how at the end, the only remaining people was a group of us FF members huddled together talking about them figs to the very last minute...

It was a really nice event.  Lots of people showed up looking for fig advice.  Can't believe how many times someone started a conversation with, "My fig tree died last winter."

I am very grateful that I got to meet many F4F members last night.  It was fun talking figs with everyone.  Everyone was great!

Finally got Dominick's Fig.  Thanks, Coop!  When I got home my four year old son Dominic saw 'DOM' on the side of the pot.  He thought I bought a fig tree for him.  After explaining the story of Dominick's fig he was was excited to know there is a fig with his name.  Getting ready for school now he was looking out the back door at Dominick's Fig sitting on the deck in the rain and said, "Daddy, maybe we should bring the figs inside so they don't get wet."  Too cute.

Hey Danny great story, my 3 yr old daughter loves to say good morning to the figs I incubate down in the grow room.

Rafael - Thanks.  Was thinking about your 'transitioning into cups' method.  Was going to PM you about it but found the thread 'Solid root growth success'.  Do you mind if I bump it?  Maybe you could add a few pics of your setup?  I think I'm going to give it a go.

Danny-

Whatever you wanna do is fine, if it helps you do better I am good with it.

Some pictures from yesterdays Staten Island event...

Im famous...

Nice article and photos.  Wish there was a group shot of F4F members. :)

@ Danny:

Funny how a 4 year old mind works...

When my son was about that age and being by a window seat on a plane; he said:
" Look Dad; the clouds fell down".

Also at BillsFigs fig fest, we had some thunder-storm rain.
I said to Bill: "Oh no! Your fish are getting wet".
You should have seen the perplexed expression on his face.
He has 2 coy-fish ponds, but probably he thought I meant fig-fruit?!?

Nice photos and article, thanks.

@Rich:

My congrats...

While I dislike any form of self-gloating; what the heck, me too:

Met Rich (great pictures. All in all a great time, can't wait until next year.
Vito
