Sticky Fingers Fig???

Yesterday, I visited Cistus Nursery in Portland ,OR.  They had the usual NW fig varieties ( BT,Lattarula ,Oregon Prolific and Desert King) . But they also had a fig called 'Sticky Fingers' . I grilled the manager for 20 minutes ,about this fig . He said they got cuttings from a local tree in Portland and the owner called it 'Sticky Fingers' . It sounded like another BT variant. The mother tree in portland is about 50 years old .Has anybody ever heard of it?????

I was told I could find the mother tree on 'Urban Edibles' . so i goggled it and found out that 'Urban Edibles' is a cooperative network of wild food foragers. Basicly it gives you maps and directions to food growing in the PDX area. The mother tree to sticky fingers is on Alberta in Portland . I'll be making a trip down there next week end to check out the tree. For those members living in or near  Portland ,OR  here is the website. I plan to hit all 62 sites around Portland, Talk to the owners, get pic's and  some intell about the trees and take cuttings .

Maybe gypsies brought it over.

sticky fingers may refer to the latex it has. (Jack fruit is very sticky also, it glue your lips together - it is a messy fruit to enjoy- but nothing like the new smell of a fresh ripe jack fuit)-  I am curious about this sticky finger fig as well, so bring us the news!

Cistus is a great nursery, but I did not realize they carry any fig trees.  Did you get anything from them?  Did you see their parking lot plant sale?
