I successfully managed to graft a piece of my left arm to my thumb in order to grow that extra hand that we all need from time to time. I will attempt the right thumb next week after I have made sure this graft has taken.
Congrats on your grafting! Make sure to carefully air layer it when it grows large enough, then you can sell it on ebay or share with a friend or family member!
That is an excellent idea. Thank you very much indeed. LOL
OUCH!
Nice achievement. It took better than some of my fig grafts.
I cut myself twice this year grafting. i was trying a new knife. Works darn good! I used to use a box cutter. I like the one sided knifes better. Easier to make a straight cut or fix one that is not.
My grafting knife has a bevelled blade instead of a straight blade. I've been using for the past two hours and nearly did it again lol. I'll need to get a better knife that doesn't want to go to the right all the time.
I cut myself twice with my Victoinox grafting knife until I started treating it with due respect. Treat it as if it was a live grenade and never let your attention wander.
Yes, I was keeping my left hand away from the blade as I was cutting my fruit trees - the only problem is the trees flail about lol
Did you have to match the epidermis layers? How long till it took?Nice graft. This is my 3rd year trying to graft and I think I got it this time. The first two years I was bleeding to bad to wrap the parrafilm. I have a pecan and persimmon graft that is budding out and I lost no blood in the process.
In the main, yes, I did, although in wrapping it it may have been too tight and it moved slightly but no-one will probably ever see it due to the speed at which my hands operate.
