I noticed this Sucrette (UCD) swelling a week ago. Yesterday it was beginning to droop. It was soft but not quite at optimum droopage yet. This morning it had drooped a bit more and looked more dehydrated. So I picked it. And the big reveal... Rich, jammy, sweet with a tinge of acid. It did not disappoint.
Hi,Can't see the pics !Could you repost them ?
I can't see the pics either. Also could you clarify whether this is the UC-Davis Sucrette or the Baud Sucrette (which seem to be different), or something else entirely.
Is it true that sucrette needs a wasp?
The Sucrette from Baud is a common fig and does not need the wasp.
Okay thanks I'll make sure I get a baud strain when I do
UCD Sucrette doesn't need the wasp either.
Okay that's strange, I had looked into it once and read it wasnt a common fig. Maybe they have a different strain in France or the page was mistaken, it was a few years back. Are the differences between the two strains large?
The eyes have always been closed on mine. I can't imagine that it has needed a wasp.
Beautiful photography.
What an excellent-looking fig! Beautiful pics!
