Sudden weather change!!!!!

Friday and the weather totally sucks! Not cold but gloomy, rainy muggy and depressing so what is there for a man(or gal) to do?
Create a diversion !!!!!
Shut the blinds
Cook up a nice summery dish, pop a bottle of vino and have a great weekend!
Here s my diversion! I hope it tastes as good as it looks!
Your thoughts ladies and gents?

Those dishes look very nice can you tells us more?

Sure!the vino seems to be doing its job!
It is called stuffed vegetables ,usually tomatoes, peppers, eggplant or zucchini !
You empty out the side of the veggies and stuff them with rice and spices(some people put chopped meat in the mix also!
It is a very typical summer dish in Greece where the veggies are a seasonal good. We are very fortunate here in the states because we can enjoy everything our hearts or bellies desire, all year long! You can find a bunch of different prep ways online! Usually differ slightly from one region to another and you can chose the one you like the most!
Just for info purposes the Greek name is yiemista! Γεμιστά.

Dolmades...Love them with ground beef and specially wrapped with fresh grape leaves, darn I am salivating, LOL

Are you kidding me Aaron? This is GA, grape leaves don t come easy this time of the year! Great call though.Ι love Ντολμάδες or Γιαλαντζη Ντολμα as they call them,With a nice strong tzatziki sauce! Oh man I m hungry again! Lol

Chris,
I collect the leaves when it's mid spring all the way to early summer and place them bunches into zip-locks and throw them in the freezer chest. they will be fresh again when thawed and ready to wrap and cook.

** some people even tight wrap the leaves like a cigar then place them in zip-locks...

I was thinking of stuffed peppers this morning!  So of course those pictures look great to me.  It's gray here, too, and raining only half-heartedly.  Perfect day for it.

Very good idea, I ll try it this coming spring! Thanks Aaron!

Joann they were ok but nothing like using our own tomatoes! You know, store bought veggies look perfect but most of the time taste like cardboard ! Well at least I had my diversion lol so no complaints! Oh and thank the good lord for the vino!

were getting rain here tomorrow i will be outside anyway watering and checking for any  damage and those evil mice trying not to lose any

Nice dish, Chris. While you're experiencing some gloomy weather in your area, over here it was 82F today. 3 weeks ago, it dipped to 19F. Fig trees are getting all confused now.

Thanks Otmani! 82 sounds perfect! It gets kinda crazy around here also with the temp ups and downs, not easy to get used to it. Like you said a couple of weeks back it was 14 f temp at 4:30 am and went up to 68 f by noon! 54 degrees difference within a few hours, not good!

Crazy .... We live near the Grden State Plaza. The most busy mall in NJ... and it's December..

Wow and it's only the beginning! Hang in there guys! We lived in NY for a good bit and even though GA is nice and quiet, I miss the noise of the big city from time to time! You guys be safe and have a great night y all.

They looked great, and I'll bet they tasted great, too.  Those of us who grow our own vegetables sure get spoiled, don't we?  ;-))  Not too much out in the yard, though, right now.

A big hello to a natural blessing for most of us from the skies above, ( 'H2O'; aka., water/rain/mist)
(I hate cold snow!).
Also breathing good clean air (O2). Both are essential to life on this good planet Earth.
Let's keep it that way ...

Looks great!
Sometime for a great American twist, try a drizzle of sweet BBQ sauce over your stuffed peppers before eating. Ooohwee!

No doubt George, even though rain makes some of us feel gloomy at times it definitely is a blessing!
Calvin buddy I see Your BBQ sauce ,great call, and I raise You 2 ribs,a chicken thigh and some pulled pork! Now we have ourselves a feast!
Thanks for the great idea! This is my leftovers or what I call "Lunch" ;)
