Sultane Cutting finally growing

I got this one cutting of Sultane from Jon back in February. It never rooted in the bag, but still looked viable so, probably in April I put it in a bag with spagnum moss---still no roots. About a month later I potted it in a cup and have babied this thing along until probably June1 when one day(you know I checked it every darned day, lol) I saw a very fine white root in the bottom of the cup. As the weeks progressed it slowly showed a few more very fine roots in the cup, but no bud movement. The top looked dried out so I was just hoping it would send up a shoot from below the soil line. I waited and waited, trying to be patient(which I'm  not) and when I finally gave up on it and thought I had no hope, the darn thing sent a shoot up from below the soil. This is what it looks like now. I'm just going to leave it alone where it is until it gets more well rooted. Hope I'm doing the right thing. If anyone has any other suggestion, please feel free. Whew, that was hard to root! Still got a long way to go, I KNOW.

Some really, really try you patience.

Tim, never say never, each one has it's own clock or it's own will to survive. I still have two different cuttings in cups that have shown nothing yet. They each have a small green bud tip but no growth at all. Congrats, if it makes it, it should be a good one for your area. It is a pretty fig according to Jon's pictures.

Some of these little cuttings just want to live no matter what we do to them. Congratulation on the success Tim.

Nice job Tim. I hope you are not in the path of that hurricane. Stay safe

Sal

tim you got that one for sure.  all you need is a little weak fertilizer and you'll be repotting in no time

Thanks guys, I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the Sultane.

Sal,I'm not in the path of the hurricane---I'm on the opposite end of the Texas coast, close to Louisiana, but we've had more than our share in the last 5-6 years. Hope it doesn't do too much damage to anyone.
