Sultane Pix

My first two Sultane figs. They weren't as good as expected. I don't know whether it's due to the first time or the lousy summer with too much rain.

If they are like my Sultane, they needed a little more ripening time. They needed to be a little more wrinkly. Some figs reach their full potential with the very first fruit, but others need a couple years to mature. Yellow Neches was one of those. It clearly had potential the first season, but in its' second year was greatly improved.

My sultane from rain tree was also not very good. It was it's first year. They looked great. I'll give it another year. If it doesn't improve I'll have a bunch of cuttings to give away lol!

It's funny you say that.

I have a Sultane from Raintree in its first year. I had one about to ripen about 2 weeks ago and some varmint got it.

So I picked one this morning before I lost it. It needed another day but  it was actually pretty good.

Don't give up on it!

Yeah i have one also but in first season and went for growth only.
The pictures i have seen of a ripe Sultane look really good time will tell for me how it actually performs and taste.
