it doesn't require pollination, It fruits for me in the absence of the wasp. Maybe your growing conditions? 
I have a few common type figs that been doing the same thing this year.

Sometimes small changes to weather would cause figs to abort. I have one unknown that is
aborting almost all its figs this past week.
