Summer cuttings

I got a chance to see an unknown fig tree today, but supposedly really good fig. It was able to get a few old wood branches and I was going to start them now. I'm guessing if I start them today I may be able to get them outside for a little while in September or they will just have to live inside until next spring. I know I can store them in a fridge, but I am nervous about them freezing or not making it. I am sure I could get back there and get more cuttings if I had too, but really want to get them going. Do you think it is OK to start them now? I don't mind to much if they have to stay inside until next spring. Any advice is much appreciated.

Well you could start a few in a pot with soil out side. Scrape the outer bark off the  bottom 3 inches and put in moist soil with a bottle over for humidity control. Haven't tried but since you have a source, you won't run out.

Yeah, it can't hurt to try it. i was going to just go with the baggie method. It seems to be the one I have had pretty good sucess with. Although I did try two cuttings in a straight perlite and peet then right in a bin for humidity and both took.
