Where in Philly do you live Chilly?

Haha, Barry Nice post from FB! That seems to sum it up. My sweetie is from Philly and we visited her family there. I tasted scrapple and had some tasty cakes for the first time! I wish I could have visited Norristown and had a Zep. That is supposed to be the king of all hoagies. The climate is pretty mild compared to WI & I was surprised to see all of the different plants that could grow there.

Welcome to the forum

Little John, yes there are some fairly well known Philly food items here, hence my growing weight problem, lol. Glad you enjoyed your visit, next time you come back, let me know, maybe we can meet. I'd be happy to show you my trees if its' srping or summer. Didn't mean to hijack your thread Chilly, but I am kind excited about meeting a couple more local fig fanatics. Same offer to you too.

Barry I've been in Philadelphia for more than 30 years, but started out in the SF Bay Area. I can't stop reading this forum. Somebody please help me. I just read your Purina Dog Chow story Barry. Lord have mercy and pass over the Depends.

Chilly I don't recall writing a Purina dog chow story, must be someone else. I have cats now haven't had a dog in many years. ALways considered myself a dog person but am now converted to cats. It's practical thing, too many plants in the yard that a dog would likely trample. So we've established our close proximity via pms and yes you and I are looking in the same yards seeing all these local fig trees. Additionally since this neighborhood is a very mixed up collection of ethnicities there is a strong possibility of discovering some real interesting trees around here. We will have to organize a fig hunt! I was supposed to do that with a couple other forum members this past fall but we couldn't find the time.

They have real Pizza in Philly or is it like that pizza that i see on TV that them New Yorkers seem to like ya know the ones they fold in half and eat like a taco.  ROFL
