Seems like many of the best tasting figs are in the small to medium size range.

Celeste, RDB, VDB, Madeira, Preto, Sals, Hardy Chicago...etc...

These seem to all be small to medium figs.

Any recommendation for large Purple/Black varieties?

Genovese Nero is supposed to be 'superior' and large. Black Jack is large, though I wouldn't call it superior.

Violette de Sollies a.k.a. Bourjasotte noire. Noire de Caromb is also of decent size.

Wait till you taste this babies... I'll share cuttings when the time comes.
