Suspected eBay scammers with F4F ties

Sofia is nice Thai lady and no problem. This thread is about a specific group of eBay sellers that are directly connected together which is summarized in post #1.

I don't want to get this thread off track, but here is the most complete list of trusted sellers I know of http://www.ourfigs.com/forum/figs-home/8609-trusted-known-ebay-sellers-vendors-list (there are a few partial lists here at F4F but they are dated)

It sucks that you hard a problem with your cuttings and I hope it's just the few you bought from this emma person. I have no connection or anything else with this emma person but you did say that you had all the cuttings in the same bin, is it possible that they became infected from being in the same bin and the ones from emma just got sick first? Like I said , I have no connection whatsoever with "emma" but I do think it's a possibility.

what are the signs of fmv?? should i destroy the cuttings that the leaves look curly?

To be able to figure out what this disease is it would be helpful if you provided photos.  Your Lebanese cuttings may grow out of it and then be fine.  Alternatively, others may know of a treatment for it.  I wouldn't give up on the cuttings yet though you might want to keep them separated from your other cuttings for now.

I find this diagram helpful a897c5f5484f7609f44e22f7edca0ad4.jpg

Can you suggest a best source for all/some microelements?

The top photo shows a closeup of the diseased leaves on the first two of the 489emma cuttings to manifest.  The bottom photo is of the third (formerly un-diseased cutting).  However, today I can see the disease is beginning to show up in the third cutting too.  The middle lobe of the bottom left leaf is beginning to discolor the same way the other two cuttings did.

I also took pictures of my healthy cuttings ( all from sources other than 489emma), but I don't think posting them would be informative.

To recap, all three of the cuttings I received from 489emma are diseased.

Its interesting to know what university you graduated from to give this diagnostics . ? I grow Figs many years and it was me who sent you these cuttings. I invite you in the summer to taste my Figs. I have about 30 trees in the ground and many in the pot. I sent you good ,healthy cuttings from a healthy tree.  You have good leafing in the picture but do you have roots there enough to support them?  I don't like to give advices but before you blame someone publicly,` you' d better learn first.

That is not fmv looks like either lack of water or sunburn. They should be fine.

Did you pray for it yet ?

If you don't mind, please take the FMV discussion to a separate thread.  I created this thread to discuss a particular group of scammers to make it easier to keep track of their actions, methods, etc.

Shame on these crooks!

Thanks! I've had a $250 order sitting in my basket from plant1onme for over a month thinking about it and tweaking it! Was going to pull the trigger tonight and then saw this post, I guess I should always start small when buying from someone the first time.

Thanks,
Chris

Okay, back onto the topic of this particular thread.  Please go back and see the IDs listed in the edit to post #1.  From the best I can tell, all of these accounts are held or controlled by one person (a woman, for what it's worth).

To understand the level of corruptness, this person also rips off people by buying from them, currently under the account peonia2015 (previously atskor10 prior to that and atskor8 prior to that).  With eBay's liberal buyer protection policies she has made false claims of receiving dead or fake cuttings and eBay guarantees her a refund no matter what.  And, when I and others have required a return before she gets the refund, the seller has had to pay for the return shipping and she has sent entirely different items back to the seller, keeping the items she bought for free.  There is no protection for sellers for false returns.  I've gone around and around with eBay on this numerous times.  Fortunately, if you're got a good track record and are a big enough seller for eBay to care, they may cover your losses for you (they did four times for me).

So, not only do I suggest you not buy from the eBay accounts listed in post #1, I suggest you go to http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin and block these eBay members from bidding on your items.  If they change their ID, it automatically gets updated in this list.

THANKS Harvey ..
The seller your informing us of is a piece of work .wow what a ... sociopath

Jon, it's time to lock this thread.

Not trying to be rude, but may I ask why?

I disagree, Dennis.  I've updated this thread with additional facts that help protect both buyers and sellers from this scammer.  I know for a fact of several people that have been spared a financial hit because of my posts.  If it's not something that concerns you (i.e., if you're not buying or selling on eBay), then there is no need for you to follow this thread but it still serves a legitimate purpose for many members.

That's a very nice comment! If anything move the post that are not on topic. Harvey has done a great job of keeping buyers informed. So why would anyone want this thread to fade away? Better yet, Harvey why don't you start a thread somewhere that it can be kept on topic and won't have the threat of being locked for no reason. And I know that this didn't come from Jon and appreciate that he hasn't done so.

I'd say leave the thread open so it can be added to by anyone that has been victimized by these pieces of garbage that are on ebay

Yes please leave thread open   It is because of Harvey that I joined the forum and try to buy first from trusted members here.  All of you who have done business with me   I thank you for the nice material you sent.  When I said I was serious about loving figs I hope you all believed me and are richer for it.   I am moving on to the harder to find  and exotic figs. I will hope that In the next three years I wil be sending cuttings to you members.    I have also noticed that there seems to be fewer postings on ebay from suspect sources.    Joyce

I have to say I use the reputable seller list on ourfigs.com all the time. I'm glad this list exists I just wish it was updated more.

Maybe we can have a section where new members such as myself can ask if anyone has bought from a specific seller? Even link an auction or pictures if need be.

Also HarveyC can keep an area for Known Scammers so new members don't need to go through an entire thread to find a complete list. I'm happy I found this forum and these posts you guys make really help us..

Also what criteria is the reputable seller list based on ? Can it be updated?

The reason I asked to lock this thread is due to the rude langauge. Plus it was getting off topic. I think this is an awesome thread. Just stay on subject and keep your comment clean.

Sure it will help many peoples to make a decision when choosing a seller.

I personally  believe no one when it comes to opinion, or guesses ,but it is interesting to compere it with my experience.

Dennis is a wise man, same two reasons that Harvey has to get the thread back on track. Rude language is not something most members want to see when looking for info or just for corresponding with other members. If you can not stay on the topic then start a new thread, it's just that simple. People can get burned if they just want to learn from their own experience and not heed the advice of others, so have at it. This is a good thread. Stay on topic!

While I can see where the nature of this thread can draw some irre, I must agree with Dennis. Who ever made the edit, thank you.

I've posted comments many times to keep this thread on track.  Unless I have moderator capabilities (I don't), that's all I can do.

Another good member got burned by this individual/group of scammers.

Also, the eBay ID of the person that I first dealt with as atskor10 who later became peonia2015 is now using the ID of 200rarefigtrees.  I'm guessing that their goal is to have 200 different varieties, either fake or stolen.
