77peony is also selling Jolly Tiger, Ice Crystal, Vasilika Sika, and Clown Fig cuttings on ebay right now.

Larry if you still the high bidder I would withdraw the bid. I see that justfigs is selling red Lebanese cuttings. I bought from him and everything was great! He is also a member here. I am a newbie to figs and this info is great to keep informed with people who maybe taking advantage.

Harvey: I see one ID that looks familiar to me.  I have bought several cuttings to get my collection started.  I also bought two 4" starters, one of which arrived totally mangled and has now died.  I have requested a replacement (White Adriatic) and hope this person will do as they promised. I am not surprised if there is a scam.  There is so much of that lately.  Too bad that people do these things.  Thanks for the warning.  I have taken note of all the IDs.

Gloria, what a great chart!

I have been bookmarking F4F page few months ago just to check the variety information. Then i getting more and more interested in figgilistic and started to register on the forum but only to read and learn from here. This is my first post and i just want to tell how grateful that i read this post today.
To be honest, i have been watching and following the above mentioned blacklist name ebayer listing and was actually decided to bid the VS cutting that r going to end in 12hr.
It is not easy to get good variety fig in some country, ebay is sometime the only way if you want to get something new, and i think this is why unfaithful seller still standing strong as long as they got good marketing "tactic".
Anyway, i'm going to unfollow and unwatch them now, hope more new figger can read this post before starting their fig hunting journey.

I dunno about this but if you tell the owner of figs4fun they can ban him, right?

Wow thank you everyone for this post.  As a newbee, I have recently succumbed to the allure of ebay figs!  And I did rely on the associations with this forum as a guide for reputable sellers.  I won bids on two trees and I received the plants pictured in the ebay listing.  And as you all point out it will be a while before they bear the fruit of their lineage.  Keeping a sharper eye on my addiction.  ;-)

Adding fuel to the fire, I was going to bid on an ice crystal cutting on e-bay but I questioned the owners if these trees were self fertile, the response was a simple "YES". Now I find them listed here on suspected e-bay scammers.  It was 77 peony.

Thanks Harvey you are always helpful .

NYCFigs: nicely worded. Very detailed. Many great facts to know about figs/plants ad they relate to Ebay policy. Great work! I really was enjoying watching stuff on Ebay but it doesn't feel safe. Thanks for this eye opening!

Filidelphia is good to

I would not purchase from any non-members of F4F forum. The feedback of sellers on eBay are not reliable because when you realize what you really have it's too late to give the CORRECT feedback. I other words, you purchase cuttings, they LOOK good so you give positive feedback..."really healthy cuttings" and that is about all you know at this time. So you put them in the fridge, in about 3-4 months you start the rooting process and low and behold the variety is not what you thought you purchased. It's too late to change your feedback and guess what, the scammer still has 100% positive feedback. Buy from trusted members, the scammers will not join the forum because they know we will expose them and they do not get exposed on eBay feedback.

I understand wynea. I dont know F4F members id on eBay or I would do just that. How do i find out? I dint think everyone posts their ebay name on here, right?

There is an old thread, I cant remember the title. it is about good ebay sellers, many members here including myself sell cuttings, trees and other plants on ebay, Harvey I know does as well or used to , as well as trees of joy. I will try to see if I can find that thread and bump it up.

I don't like these scammers! Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about on eBay

Has anyone noticed how many sellers are located in NJ? It must be the hot spot of figdoom in the USA.

I've noticed that to, its strange because the west is hotter than the east

I have noticed that too and here is what I think. New Jersey is a very populated state. It also has a relatively high population of people of Italian, Greek and Portugese ethnic background. Large portion of the state is in zone 7. In some of the south I think figs are grown and taken for granted. They grow easily. Here we need help. Hence the activity on the forum.

Thanks, Garden Whisperer.  Yes, if you find the list, it would help a lot.  I may paying attention to what I see for sale.  I'm new at all of this so advice is very much appreciated.

Oh no! I've been a victim! Bought an Italian 258 from radyslava
