The anticipated Desert King has arrived!  Here is a photo journal of the package being opened.

I took pictures every step of unwrapping to show how well it was wrapped and shipped!    I think this is a viable way to ship rooted cuttings

I'm very happy it arrived in one piece!  I was so worried that corrugated stuff would get smashed and with all your suggestions, the bubble wrap helped for sure!  I can't take all the credit!  JD was a big help!  2 man job!

Good luck with it Jo-Ann!  Don't worry if the leaves fall off from the shock of that trip!  They will have to come back with all those roots!!

tell you what suzi this is giving me some ideals for shipping larger pots in spring. this is awsome, Joann thanx for posting the pics.

My pleasure to post the pictures - it's the least I could do!  I was afraid it was overkill on'em - but I figured if anyone didn't want to look at them, it is their choice to make.

I have to admit I was surprised it arrived in perfect condition.  You know how the carriers could be!  I am referring to ALL of them, not just USPS - UPS, FEDEX, they all manhandle the packages.

   That's the greatest Happy New Years gift ever.  Best of luck with that Desert King.  Quite frankly I had my doubts about the packing method, but it looks like Suzi "hit the nail on the head" with that idea. I'm going to give it a try this spring. I have way too many little trees growing, and I was thinking of sending them to Forum members. JoAnn, you are "first" on the list.

Here's a picture of the fig now - the one shoot faded a bit but there are more to come!
