We just successfully rooted dozens of fig cuttings; some in plastic bags, others in water, etc.  We live in the Pacific NW...what do we do now that it's August and the warm, sunny days are disappearing?  We are planning to transfer all the cuttings into perlite/vermiculite in cups, then follow directions to later put them in 1 gal. pots.  Should be Oct. or so by then.  Where can we keep them in the pots?  Outdoors all fall?  Winter?  Should we bring them indoors and put by a window?  Do they need a lot of light or are they dormant in winter?  Before we take the next step, we thought we'd post to this forum for help.

Can you give us a nearby zip code?  PAC NW is a pretty broad area. 

Do you typically get snow?  If yes, how much?

Near Olympia, WA; zone 7, 8? or so...we get snow, not every winter.  We had -5 last year and it killed off a lot of our plants.  Normal winters average in the 40's, lots and lots of rain. Oct-Nov-Dec highs in 40's and 50's, lows in 40's.  January/Feb. colder, maybe upper 30's, similar at night with a handful of below-freezing nights and mornings. Typical winter might get 0-8" of snow. 

My husband just said it got to 5 above, not below.  Either way, it's a rare thing (once every 15 yrs about)
