Tashkent Fig

Well I was out at my friend's greenhouse where I have some of my larger fig trees and it looks like Tashkent is going to give me some figs this year.

Looking good!

Very cool, how old is the tree?

The color looks so good and flat shape looks like a flat peach. I like it a lot. Please update when fig ripens, with fig interior pics.

glad to hear you got a Tashkent to grow for you. I tried twice, both died and I gave up.
We used to eat them in Uzbekistan, its a good fig

Very impressive Sharon!  I have 2 trees somewhere......

Dennis, just go past the snake and turn right.

I now know that I wasn't patient enough with my Tashkent in pot and moved it to the wildlife area where I believe that I lost it to drought. If I make it up there, I will try to look for a secondary growth from beneath the soil.

Very cool, Sharon! The tree looks super healthy. Please update us again when fruit is ripe. Being on this forum gives me fig envy...lol

The tree is about 2.5 years old.  It would likely be bigger if I got my butt in gear and put in a bigger pot.  I'm hoping the figs will be good but I think they may get too much water.  They are at my friend's nursery and watered with all of his plants.  They get really big since he uses a fair amount of fertilizer but I don't think the figs are as good as could be.  The good think is that most of my trees are monsters at 2 years so I am planing on starting some babies and putting the mother tree in the ground.
