Yeah, spring is here, double digits day time temp and my 2014 wish is to sample or to have more of the following:Norella -- buddy paid huge bucks for this tree. Seems to be awesome tasting and mother of productivity.CDD type of figsGenovese Nero -- Adriano says it is super, super tasting. Yugo Yellow -- so yummielicious brebas & many.GypsyMoscatel Preto Granthams RoyalGypsy, Moscatel Preto & Granthams Royal were excellent but not enough. The one for me to watch wouldbe Granthams Royal. It looks like Dauphine and if it is as productive & reliable as Desert King, I would be very happy that it does so well in PNW.
CdD types, Geonvese Nero, Moscatel Preto, RdB, Pastiliere, I-258, 187-25, Excel, Beall, St. Rita, Niagara Black.. list goes on and on and on.. :)
All of what I have since I just started last year. I'm hoping to get to taste even just a few pieces from each variety.
only three of my trees are big enough to produce this year, and I am esp. looking forward to having more fruit from my Hardy Chicago this year. Last year they were GREAT!
Once again Black Madeira tops in yard on own palate.
oh yeah.. Black Madeira. i hope my turn out ok this yr. and hopefully i can compare it to Figo Preto, and I-258.. and Socorro Black.. there is another one that i want to compare this to... but that would be for 2016.
Hi,Spring is beginning, but most wild trees don't have leaves - Don't expect to see leaves on a figtree here. I'm expecting lots of ( lots of lots of ..) Brownurkey brebas+maincrop, Goutte d'or , Dalmatie, and two unknown I have ... Time will tell !
So far all I have had are dark figs. Never tried a light colored one. Atreano or Adriatic perhaps?
Kathleen's Black, Figo Preto, Black Madeira, CdDB, Zingarella/Gypsy, Bari, Macool and a couple unknowns that I'm not even sure are black or white/green.
I'm with you on the Genovese Nero, Paul. Any details on the Yugoslavian Yellow? Thanks for the cuttings, btw.
