I have this nice tree and I was told that it was Italian Honey
It sure is nice and sweet and melts in your mouth
I can eat half dozen of these and still want more
I will be pruning this tree and it would be nice to have it

Looking at the fruits yes, looking at the leaves, they look like imature leaf of Italian Honey fig.
The mature leafe has five lobes.
If you want to be sure go check a fully grown fruit before it get ripe.
If it has the most visible ridges runing from eye to peduncle, then it is Italian honey.
If it is smooth on th fig skin, and you do not fill the raised ridges, then is not Italian Honey.

Thanks Herman

Mario you are in Ontario? How do you prepare your trees for winter? I am also zone 5 but in the NY State snow belt.
Linda

You can definatelly Label it Italian Hone with confidence.
The ridges, and the mature leaf,is consistent with Italian Honey.
That leaf is very unique to Italian Honey.

Marjo I would be interested in cuttings when you take some. Let me know I can send you some in return from my trees.

Linda: I have a small greenhouse that I keep just above freezing over winter
and it worked vary well for me last winter I had a least a month head start

Herman: Thank you for sharing your expertize I will label it as Italian Honey

Al: I will be pruning this tree down quite a bit and I'm hoping to be able to send a couple of cuttings to all that are requesting it

Mario
The photos and description describes my Lattarula (Latarulla). The last week heat-wave helped ripe a few on my plant against the south facing wall. The heat wave did not help ripe figs on Lattarula in the open backyard.
Italian Honey and Lattarula are considered synonyms of each other.

Here you go Marjo:A small greenhouse does wonder for getting ripe fruits, and getting your trees ahead in cold climates.
It works like a charm.
