Tastey Pawpaws

looking into trees from onegreenworld.com  they are based out of Oregon. Anyone ever order from there before? I'm looking into them because they have both "Susquehanna" and "Shenandoah"

Also , has anyone ordered from fknursery.com? their website seems to be very un-user friendly. They also have the varieties i want.

I have 2 each both "Susquehanna" and "Shenandoah" and another of the Peterson selections “Potomac” from Forrest Keeling and have been pleased.  Their website does leave to be desired and you can’t really order online, so just call them, I think they mostly serve to wholesale but their service was fine to me. Their RPM method of growing seems to work well. The pots are small but a mass of fine roots, and oddly enough no distinct taproots. I received mine last year and potted them up in very tall pecan type pots. I assume they will develop the normal taproot. They grew better than Pawpaws I have received from other sources. The potted plants I have received from Stark brothers did fine as well. I would highly caution against bare-root pawpaw and most folks have disappointing results, I included. I think   potted from any reputable nursery is the way to go for Pawpaw, and I in generally prefer bare-rooted fruit trees, but that is a whole other discussion. I would caution against a nursery stating grown in pots then shipped bare root. Hidden Springs does this, and although they are reputable and I generally like them I don’t believe they do Pawpaw right, even though they offer a good selection. Of 8 trees from them I have 1 survivor. Of potted Pawpaw received from Keeling Forest and Starks I have lost none. I only have mine in pots for a year because I wanted to baby them the first year (shade/water/attention) and I am process of moving and so they will be in ground soon.

That was the exact info i was looking for. Thank you!!
I would much rather spend a little bit more with a better chance of survival. I just called them and they launched a new website that is much more user friendly to small orders. http://www.g2gardens.com if anyone else is interested. It must be really new because the website kept popping up errors when i clicked to  finalize my order. I had to call back and do it over the phone. The woman who answered was super friendly and helpful. I got the 2 varieties I wanted and will be waiting for them to ship.
Will update and take pictures of their condition when they arrive.

Nobody wanted my seeds so I saved them and stratified the seeds in the fridge until March.   So far I have 6 seeds sprouted.   I did buy some seeds from Bass, no luck on those yet.   My hopes are to have 1 of each for cross pollination.   I know that it will still work between two seedling, but I want two seedlings from two different sources.

Cheers

The city of Philadelphia has a tree give away each spring. I signed up thanks to a friend, and obtained 2 free 3 ft Pawpaw trees which will go well with my Taytoo and Mango. Will also be picking up Sunflower  soon. I also have a few seedlings from Bass's seeds so I will have a nice Pawpaw production in a few years.

Earlier this year, I ordered two pawpaw trees from One Green World.  They were extremely well packed and arrived in great shape.  I potted them immediately and have them sitting in a place where they get a few hours of morning sun, then shade for the rest of the day.  They seem to be doing very well, starting to leaf out.  I've never had a pawpaw, but I'm *so* looking forward to it.

Found these yesterday.  Quite a bit better than the ones growing at the park.  No idea what variety they are.  About 20 seeds into the fridge for the winter.

If anyone has pawpaw seeds they don't want I'd be happy to take them.  You have to keep them wet and send in a ziplock with wet sphagnum or peat.  I'd pay shipping.  We have a bunch of unproductive patches here and I'd like to plant non-local seed in hopes they will cross pollinate.  Thanks.
