this specific variety was growing leggy, stretch, long internode branch. so i took it out in front of all my cuttings and gave them a visual lesson. it was graphic, not for the faint of heart.

Let us bow our heads...
I hope you root it. And give them more light. :)
What variety is it?
it's MVSB. all 3 cuttings are same. others under same condition are not this extreme. left one node on this branch. hope it will put out better branch. they all rooted.
Fig plants are very forgiving except when they deserve the real good lesson - the burn can.Good luck with your little ones. ; )
martin, i said "lesson", not death sentence.. LOL
As a mother...I see that as fig abuse. lol
we need a new org. PETP. "People for Ethical Treatment of Plants". also known as "people eat tasty plants". LOL
Fig abuse ( I am with Sarah) and bragging about it!
Pete, Do you keep bonsai?
i follow your lead and did the same thing to my cuttings..no more leggieswish list: Ronde De Bourdeau,Maltese falcon, celeste, LSU purple,Col de Dame Gris and Noir
really wanted to do bonsai.. no patience for it. i think that's why i like figs. almost instant gratification.
Pete, I see. I saw your bonsai scissor, so I was just curious. :)
