Tennessee New Fig Fan - Figs Ripening?ing??

Your trees look great. I am in your area and I have some extra trees.

Pawpawbill, thank you -- I am just in my 2nd year of fig growing.  So much to learn.  Although I have room for extra trees, I just want to be sure of  what I am doing with what I have.  I consider fig ownership a privilege and not a right  :)

To all in the Middle Tennessee/Lower Kentucky/Upper Alabama/Georgia area, how about we plan a trade day event?  There are lots of nice parks in Nashville and a lunch cookout could be organized.  It would be a good way to meet other fig enthusiasts in the area!  Is this something that is done in other areas?  I don't know the best time to organize it.

Do we have a patriarch/matriarch of fig growing in the area that might also help organize and be a speaker?

I need to add a correction -- My Lebanese Red is from Harvey Correia (HarveyC on this site).  I was confused as to the source and thought I had received two things from Bass.

I won the Lebanese Red (a foot high) on ebay from Harvey and bought the Makedonia Dark cuttings directly from Bass.   Sorry about the confusion.  Here is Harvey's tree just over a year later!   Now I could be wrong, but I think I remember Harvey saying he got his Lebanese Red from Bass.   That might be why I was confused.LebaneseRed (2).jpg

I don't want to leave anyone out -- the Ronde de Bordeaux fig was purchased from "KK" on ebay.  She is a regular poster to this site!  Here is a picture again of her tree one year later. RhondeBordeaux.jpg
