Terrential rains bombing Pennsylvania

Ciao, we have had downpouring rains for all night and all day, my backyard is flooded, Fig trees enjoying it however, they like the good rain, have many pails and containers outside to collect this water for fig cuttings and plants for the winter months, I believe we have gotten 3 inches already. It is not stopping. We are in a drought so this is good but its flooding quickly. Glad though to collect all this good rainwater for the fig trees rooting and the cuttings. Ciao

I went out and picked any figs that are close to ripen, and left some to test after the rain for how resistant they are. I can see the Black madeira already splitting along a couple others.
we're getting about 6 inches of rain. We also have Tornado warnings.

Yeap, Bass and Maggie I did the same.  You guys are getting the hard rain we got 2 days ago.  I moved  my Italian 258 inside my greenhouse cause I had several figs almost ripe and I did not want them to split.  They survived!  But others outside, RdB and Hardy Chicago figs had to be picked.  My rain barrel is full now and my trees will get some good water.

I wish this storm goes to California, They can really use it there.

Good Idea Bass, definitely been good weather for checking on the rain hardiness of certain varieties, good job/idea! I should do the same but gobbled them all down this morning didn't want to chance. could have left a couple on though,,,, oh well, always next year. Ciao

I'm in Newport News, Virginia and we've had about 4-5" so far and it's not supposed to stop until late tonight.  I've got 5 figs planted in the ground, they are in about 3" of standing water...

Bass, we had our own tropical storm today, bringing rain, but still probably less than 1% of what you are going to get. I heard 22" in South Carolina. We had that much in one month once or twice, and it was chaos. Can't uimagine it all in one day. That is 2-3 years rain for us.

Goodness--Y'all are getting all of our rain we are not getting.  Twenty-two inches in SC is a lot.

Prayers are with everyone.  Send some of it this way, would you?

Got home at 10 last night and went out with a flashlight to check the figs. Everything is splitting except the Armenian. I'm sure that will nave split by the time I get home tonight. Even split, the VdB and HC tasted pretty good, just a little watery.
It's still pouring.

Hoorah! Friday and the rain is gone.
Tv said, 14.83 inches, since Monday.
Yesterday, my young, ingrounds were standing in 5 inches of rain. Thank God for our sandy soil, today no standing water.   New Bern, N.C.

I been seeing on TV the big rainfalls you folks have been getting, like Noss said you can send some to Illinois but not too to much and i try to send some cold and snow to you as return favor this winter.  ; )

On a serious note hope things are ok in your area's.
