that time of the yr again.. vacation.

well.. sort of vacation. off to BSA summer camp with boys for a week in WV mountain. that means, my 9 yr old will be looking after my trees.

cut off the FMV filled branch off my Calvert and moved the root and good branch into 3 gal pot. the roots were rather tangled up pretty good. had to run knife through it, wash off some of the soil, but didn't completely bare root. used my soil mix of 5:1:1 and repotted.

Figo Preto has been moved into 3 gal so, its root ball was that big, and it was not circling the pot, but it has been in the 1/2 gal trade pot all this time.

both are under the shade to get over the stress. more than likely they are set back a month or so. both has figs, but as long as they survive, i'm cool with it.

rest are all content in their 1-10 gal. hope they will fare well while i'm off to mountain next week.

Pete, enjoy the week away with the kids, it's a great thing that you do with them. I remember my father doing the same with my brothers and I many many years ago.

That is great Pete hope you have a great time with em. The weather is so nice right now temperature wise. While I don't really like leaving my plants, it's also fun to see them after a bit so you can appreciate a tad of growth. Eyeballing them all the time slows things down a bit for me...

I like going to trips and coming back after 2-7 days and watching my trees grew.
eyeballing them puts them under pressure maybe..
