The Fig Shuffle

This is a really good topic. This is my first year doing this too. I have to recently purchased potted figs and I guess I have been over protective taking them inside. I am in zone 6 NJ and I think if I am reading everyones ideas on a safe temp I think should be fine to leave them out. It seems that the temps are now staying in the higher 40s, it looks like 45 is the coldest night temp for the next two weeks. So, as long as its not a down pour or high winds I should be fine to leave them outside now?

I'm further north than most folks here & don't have the luxury of a garage to easily move trees back & forth.  I have somewhere around a 100 trees in 2-7 gallon pots & they are all stored in a basement of one of our houses.  Usually about the 2nd week of May I bring them all out for the summer.  This spring has been the coldest one since 1993 so I may not be able to get them out then.  Usually most of the figs have an inch of growth or so & the species that have breba crops are already pushing their fruit. I've been using this system for well over 15 years.  The downside of bringing them out late is of course, some of the varieties will not ripen their fruits before first frosts in the fall.

71GTO im not one to tell folks what to do with there plants other than a suggestion or show what i do in my climate.

You may want to error on safe side , perhaps those plants were greenhouse grown or came from very warm climate and used to that type of weather.

They were bought locally from Herman. I know he told me I could go right out when I got them, but I have been totally babying them, lol! I am curious about creating a system with the temps especially if I get less cold hardy trees
