The Greenhouse project

Well the first 2 painful items.
The tree removal will be over 4K.  I have a big Ash tree ideally situated to someday fall on my proposed greenhouse so out it goes.  Next the most dead black Walnut comes down.  Black Walnuts tend to be messy and often create problems for other plants around them.  A few little things that are in the build area.  Right now it's about 30 X 40 area so greenhouse will fit.  There are a few trees that are not part of the project but should go while the crew is here.  Another tree right next to the house that is leaning and forked so that it can take out my house and the neighbors in one blow.  Another Ash that is 1/2 dead.

The gas company sent the wrong team out to evaluate the job.  The guys had no idea how to quote the job other than it's going to be expensive.  I think the major issue is getting the line over the sewer right away and the stream.  I'm still hoping the engineers will be able to put it under the bridge.

Hi Schaplin,
That is the problem with trees. I keep mine on check 3 meters /10' is more than enough - but the field was bare naked when I got it so probably easier.
My bro has a 8 meters/ 30' high pine tree near his "new" house ... I already told him ... Take that down ... Could be a bad wake-up call one of those days ...
But he has some other high trees around that do not belong to him nevertheless ... So ... Well that's the country fun, he says .
Good luck with your trees... And while the guys are at it ... level all the remaining trees ... Just saying .
The more you wait, the worst the problem gets ...

Four thousand is a lot a benjamins just to remove one tree! I know a guy that might do it for 2K. If interested, send me a PM and I'll give you his number. He doesn't use a crane. They simply climb the tree and cut from the top down. I saw his tream cut 2 of my neighbours' trees. Those trees were every bit 60 feet tall! It's amazing to see them work in action.

Look for a high end furniture maker.  Some of them will pay you $1200 or so to remove a tree.

If the wood is viable for the black walnut put a ad on Craigslist someone will come take that down for free
